Have you noticed uneven, lumpy skin on your legs and buttocks? Where the overlying fat in the skin is pulled into the deeper tissues by connective tissue bands, it creates an uneven, bumpy surface. We call this cellulite.

You’ll commonly find cellulite in the hips, thighs, abdomen, buttocks, and breasts. Women are more likely than men to experience cellulite due to differences in fat, muscle, and connective tissue distribution. Indeed, around 80% to 90% of women are affected by some degree of cellulite.

While people dislike its appearance, cellulite is not harmful. Nevertheless, cellulite reduction treatments are popular to improve the overall appearance of a person’s body. We’re asking five key questions about these treatments:

  1. What is cellulite reduction?
  2. Does cellulite go away?
  3. Do cellulite reduction treatments work?
  4. How much does cellulite reduction cost?
  5. How to get rid of cellulite on the stomach?

Keep scrolling to find out the answers to these questions and discover if cellulite reduction is right for you.

What is cellulite reduction?

Cellulite reduction is precisely what it says – a technique for removing cellulite. However, the techniques in question can differ wildly. Some home treatments involve applying a caffeinated cream. These topical cellulite creams won’t remove the cellulite but can lessen its appearance.

Various medical procedures have also been developed, including:

  • Cryolipolysis. A noninvasive procedure that freezes the fat cells beneath the skin, causing them to rupture. Several treatments are needed to remove an inch of fat.
  • Ultrasound. Sound waves are used to eliminate fat in the abdomen and thighs.
  • Cellfina. A needle breaks the tough bands under the skin, reducing cellulite.
  • Laser therapy. A laser is used to target the tough bands under the skin. The skin may thicken as a side effect.

Here at Alite Laser, we avoid these unnecessarily complex treatments. Our GREEN VAC-RDT system involves gentle suction alongside three rotating balls to stretch the connective tissues, reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Do cellulite reduction treatments work?

Yes. Almost all cellulite treatments are effective, producing a long-term reduction in cellulite in all patients. However, some treatments are more intensive and take longer than others.

GREEN VAC is highly effective at reducing cellulite. Gentle sucking and massaging of the skin create a radial skin fold. Doing so unblocks the blood and oxygen flow to suffocated cellulite tissues. That allows the drainage of stagnant waste products through the blood vessels and lymphatic system – resulting in healthy, smooth, and beautifully toned skin.

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS), cellulite reduction treatments are recommended if:

  • You wish to reduce the appearance of cellulite on your skin
  • You are in good health
  • You are not significantly overweight
  • You have realistic expectations about the final appearance.

While we promise a significant reduction in cellulite, no procedure is 100% effective. Some mild dimpling may remain, and cellulite will likely occur again over time – requiring further treatments.

As discussed, cellulite creams and lotions are unlikely to produce any substantial benefits in cellulite reduction. Certain medical-grade products can improve collagen production but do not affect the underlying fat and connective tissue.

Does cellulite go away?

No. Without treatment, cellulite will not disappear on its own. Weight loss, exercise, and avoiding processed, high-sugar foods may improve your skin’s overall appearance, lessening cellulite. However, despite weight loss, cellulite is likely to remain. That’s especially true if you’re genetically predisposed to developing cellulite.

Only through a recognized treatment can women (and men) achieve substantial cellulite reduction. Nevertheless, we recommend exercise – particularly firming and toning muscles – as a key component of our treatments. Together, they can achieve a more substantial cellulite reduction than either alone.

In fact, Dr. David McDaniel, director of the Institute for Anti-Aging and assistant professor of clinical dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, “Firm and tone those muscles will, in turn, tighten the skin, giving the illusion that cellulite is less noticeable.”

How much does cellulite reduction cost?

Cellulite treatments can differ in price depending on the size of the area you wish to treat. The bigger the area, the greater the price.

Here at Alite Laser, we offer our first cellulite reduction treatment for only $50. Give us a call for a free consultation to discuss the procedure and your overall goal. Our GREEN VAC system works in the edematic phase of cellulite, the fibrous phase of cellulite, the scaring phase of cellulite, and for the reduction of facial wrinkles, fresh scars, keloids, and stretch marks.

How to get rid of cellulite on the stomach?

Of all the areas affected by cellulite, the stomach is perhaps the most noticeable – especially when we’re trying to get beach body ready. The stomach is particularly prone to cellulite due to pregnancy, diet, and weight fluctuations.

Exercise can help; by toning your abs and burning fat, you’ll minimize the appearance of cellulite on your stomach over time. Consider exercises like swimming, dancing, bike riding, and jogging. You can also perform crunches, bicycle crunches, dead bugs, planks, and more to tone your abs further.

We recommend combining these exercises with a series of GREEN VAC treatments. Using our system, we can adjust the pressure to help treat the difficult-to-reach sections of cellulite, producing long-lasting, noticeable results.
